The face behind Katie Ada Photography.
Horses have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Dorset, I was lucky enough to be surrounded by our own horses from a very young age, and I completely fell in love with them.
Today, I live in a small village near Shepton Mallet, Somerset, with my two mares, two crazy Collies and two mischievous cats. When I’m not out photographing horses, rural life or many other things, you’ll usually find me at the yard, walking through the countryside, or baking something sweet in the kitchen.
Photography has always been another huge passion of mine. I am one of those people who are constantly taking pictures of absolutely everything (my old phone even reached over 100,000 photos before it finally gave up!).
Over time, those two passions naturally came together, allowing me to create a career doing something I genuinely love.
A Few Things About Me
🐴 I’ve owned horses for most of my life.
🐶 I have two crazy Collies who are never far away.
🐱 I also have two cats who were both feral farm cats and now loving creatures.
🍰 If I’m not editing photographs, I’m probably baking.
🌿 My favourite place to be is out in the countryside with my animals.
📷 I still get just as excited every time I pick up my camera.
A Horse Owner First
One of the biggest advantages of choosing me is that I’m a horse owner too.
I understand that every horse has their own personality, I am able to work patiently alongside any horse and owner to create the beautiful images you see on my website.
Because of this, my sessions are always completely relaxed. I’ll never rush your horse or ask them to do anything they’re uncomfortable with. Instead, I work at their pace, allowing plenty of time for breaks, cuddles and those unexpected little moments that often become favourite photographs, and I can guide you into beautiful poses for create the most memorable experience.
What You Can Expect
When you book a session with me, my goal is to make the experience enjoyable from beginning to end.
I’ll gently guide you throughout the shoot, help with posing if you’d like it, and make sure you never feel awkward in front of the camera.
Family members, partners, children and other pets are always welcome to join in too. After all, they’re part of your story.
